Peru - June 2010

This was my first trip to Peru and it is the best trip I have ever been on. We did so many things for the Lord. Before I went, I was just a Christian that read the Bible whenever I wanted to and went to church on Sunday sometimes. I would pray about things and would just hope that they would get answered. Other than that there was nothing else in my Christian walk. I had no desire, passion or any want to get close to God because I didn't know of the MANY, MANY things He is capable of doing. Also I didn't think that He would even use me at all. In my mind I just thought, "I'm barely 18 years old, why would God use someone young like me?". Age means nothing to God. The only reason why age would limit God's work through you is if YOU let it.

God even used someone that had fallen away from Him, to heal another person's shoulder/arm. By doing God's work in Peru I experienced things I never knew could happen. I only heard of it happening to other people. Many people were healed, saved, and encouraged. Many believers faith was ignited and their small flame was once again burning. Even encouraging pastors was part of what we did. You would be surprised as to what even a little encouragement from the Lord can do for you. The Lord had also healed a lady's ear that had constant ringing and some deafness in it. Also there was a pastor name Julio and he was 60-70 years old and he had pain in his knee and he just couldn't do things he use to be able to do. The Lord healed his knee instantly. Literally one or two days later Julio was with us carrying a 50 kilo bag of rice (about 110 pounds) over his shoulder with NO PAIN AT ALL!! God does not need to prove to us that He can heal...but that right there was a confirmation that Pastor Julio was healed.

Throughout this whole trip I realized that JUST going to church, reading the Bible, and being "named" a Christian is NOT even a walk with God. You might as well say it's crawling. And it not only "cripples" your potential but also you are robbing people of healings, miracles, encouragement, and many other things that God would have you do if only you walked (and not limped) closer with Him. It wasn't the trip that helped me to realize and know and understand all this, but just doing God's work and what He wants me to do. Now before I write a book about all the other stuff that God did, I'm just giving you a sample of what the Lord does and how He uses people to do many things through Him. All glory to God for everything He did.
